The Panamanian government has created several laws which, have been created to promote foreign investment in the country which benefits the local environment or local economy of Panama. Some of these programs offer temporary or permanent residency, citizenship, and passports and others may not. Some of these programs only offer temporary resident visas, or work permits.

PANAMA VISA TYPES

Permanent Residency & Passport:

* Small Business Investor Program
* Self Economic Solvency Visa
* Agricultural Investor Program
* Tax Free Processing Zone Investor Program
* Reforestation Visa

Temporary Immigrant Visa only:

* Missionary Visa
* Student Visa

Immediate Panamanian Passport:

* Immediate Passport Program

Permanent Residency only:

* Retired or Pensioned Visa Program
To reside in Panama, indefinitely, as long as evidence is filed that applicant receives a pension, to pay for his expenses in the country, for a monthly minimum amount of USD 500.00 or its equivalent in any foreign currency, plus USD 100.00 for each dependant.

Temporary Work Visa only:

* City of Knowledge Work Visa

Multiple Entry & Exit Visa (Optional):

* Multiple Entry and Exit Visa
All foreigners having resident status in Panama must obtain a Return Visa. Therefore, after the main visa is granted, a Multiple Return Visa should be obtained when traveling abroad. This only takes two days and no major requirements. The Simple one will serve for one return entrance only, while the multiple one lasts two years.
